Got my Samsung Galaxy Q (aka Gravity Smart in US) from Fido. Unlock it right away and pop in a Speakout sim card. The process involves 2 steps:
1. Rooting - a process to get root access in the phone operating system.
2. Unlocking - the unlock is actually written in a file in the phone. Pulling the file out and reading the code is a simple process.
